Cry of an Angel

I soar the sky on my two wings
And look down on the earth
My thoughts reside on the calamity
Since the day of human birth

To make a change is my desire
Although its not my place
To watch the world and the people of
Is the task I'm meant to face

But I look high and low for answers
To questions I know don't exist
And persist to stress about solutions
As my reason clouds like mist

I know it is my fathers will
To let his children choose
Yet every time he shows his love
They reject him for the booze

It makes no sense how he could love them
More than beings as we
His perfect sons who praise his name
And do his will gladly

But who am I to question
What my master chose for you
I'm your guardian watching from the skies
That's all I'm called to do
